Heather Adams

Heather Adams co-founded Rock & Bloom with a mission of becoming the best brand studio to work with and work for. She’s accomplished this monumental feat through her extensive background in marketing, communications, and digital strategy. This triple threat leads clients to continued success and pushes team members to levels of brilliance they never knew existed.  When Heather takes the wheel, every project exceeds expectations, and strategy and design never take a backseat. 

Look up fierce in the dictionary and you’ll find a picture of Heather Adams. Her perfect blend of charisma and get-stuff-done determination makes her the best partner for clients. She listens with empathy, speaks with gravitas, and lights up every room she walks into. Like the rest of us, Heather is an emphatic foodie and she makes a mean vanilla latte. Her dance moves are next level, and lucky for us, the office is her personal stage. The only thing Heather loves more than Rock & Bloom are her two beautiful children – who are equally as fashionable as she is. Oh, and she has a husband too.

Co-Founder & Chief Strategy Officer

David Molesky

Passionate, creative, perceptive. David Molesky is co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Rock & Bloom, where he is the innovative force behind brand identity and design. Rock & Bloom was launched as a full-service design firm, born of the idea that design, innovation and strategy should never take a backseat. David lives these principles — his passion and pioneering nature drive a growth mindset through Rock & Bloom. Over 15 years of design experience combined with his Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science provide David the unique ability to translate ones and zeros into user-friendly design, client conversations into masterful brands. Whether it’s working on the front lines with clients or programming websites, designing imaginative brands or developing mobile apps, David’s unique blend of left and right brain are invaluable on projects of all scope.

David single-handedly keeps Dr. Pepper in business, and they should be eternally grateful for his soda consumption. He has seen every new movie before you’ve even heard of it, and will give you a very logical breakdown of its merits. He’s one of two men on our team, so takes the brunt of the gender pay gap, political gender divides, and other inequalities on a day-to-day basis. When he’s not at his ergonomic desk, you’ll find David riding his Peloton at rage intensity to prove his physical superiority, or disc golfing to prove he has flaws, too. He has the cutest toddler who has his propensity for antics.

Sales & Marketing Strategist

Larissa Katsiris

Larissa is the Energizer Bunny of Rock & Bloom, often dancing from meeting to meeting, spreading a trail of positivity as she goes. Outgoing by nature, meeting new people and making connections is her specialty. The queen of making things happen, Larissa has more drive and ambition in the tip of her pinky finger than most people have in their whole body. Telling Larissa she can’t do something is a great way to ensure she crushes the challenge with time to spare. 

Even outside of work Larissa doesn’t slow down. Fitness and travel get her super fired up, and if the sun’s out you can bet she’ll be outside soaking it in. At any given time, Larissa has a million things on the go, but will somehow always find time to take on more. Caring and supportive, Larissa is the best hype woman a person could ask for. Spend an hour with her and watch as your confidence soars; it’s people like Larissa that should run the world.

Account Director

Molly Lux

Molly is a force to be reckoned with. Fuelled by relentless ambition, she’s done everything from tracking diseased birds as a biologist to running one of Saskatoon’s most successful event management businesses. Molly finds joy in constantly learning about her clients’ businesses and the transformative impact that branding has on their success. Molly’s been all over Canada, working in Saskatoon, Toronto, and now the scenic landscapes of Vancouver. No matter where she is, her home is at Rock & Bloom, building relationships with clients and supporting our team with fierce determination. 

Outside of work, Molly’s competitive nature helps her thrive in sports, coaching her children, connecting with new people, and travelling. She is passionate about exploring the world around her and enjoying life to the fullest. Known to others for her kindness and generosity, Molly’s warmth seeps through in everything she does. It is, however, particularly evident in how she’s raised her two kids, Jack and Nora, and their puppy Frankie.

Strategy Director

Matt Horning

Matt is an exceptional developer, obliterating technical issues with a few keystrokes. He’s also an amazing self-taught designer with a unique perspective on everything, bringing a unique key to every problem. With two degrees from the U of S — Cellular Biology and Computer Science — we plan to learn a lot more about our genetic makeup, and also hope there is room for Matt to explore his side passion of computer science. A former Moose Javian, Matt grew up skateboarding, playing playstation and ballin’ in his driveway. 

He’s always had a love for the web, and has been lurking gaming forums and designing clan tags and banners on Adobe CS2 since its inception. While studying psychology, Matt developed a passion for interaction and animation. Matt’s mesh of left and right brain will be put to good use — problem solving technical issues while putting his artistic design side to the test. 

Matt is painfully cool, and a constant reminder to us all that we are not. He’s been teaching himself how to bake, which is of great benefit to us. And when Matt learns something, he moves from amateur to holy-hell-you-made-that in record time. Generous in spirit, Matt is known to deliver fresh baking to teammates’ homes on the regular. It’s one of the reasons he’s everyone’s favourite.

Creative Director

Valerie Baier

Our resident Creative Director, Val has always reached for the stars. As a child she dreamt of being an astronaut, and while that didn’t quite pan out, her “go big or go home” attitude pushes our design team to heights we didn’t think were possible. Straight out of college, Val was ready to dive in and get her hands dirty. Through hands-on work and self-learning, Val has racked up an impressive resume of experience, becoming a master of solving problems through design. Seriously, she’s the GOAT. 

An exuberant morning person, Val’s creativity gets up with the sun. Even when she’s not working, she’s creating. Whether tackling a DIY project, interior design challenge, or running her Etsy store, Val embraces her given title of ‘creative nerd’. Kind, caring, and empathetic, Val is the support system for our team. She’s also the support system for her two children, her dog, her cat, her fish, and her borderline-concerning amount of houseplants. Thank god for Val.

Account Manager

Lisa Greig

Fiercely ambitious, Lisa’s educational background is almost as impressive as she is. Coming to us from the world of social work, she has always been drawn to problem-solving and connecting deeply with others, both of which make her a huge asset to the Rock & Bloom team. Account Manager, Swiftie, and basketball extraordinaire, Lisa “sets up the play” for her team (both on the court and off), bringing a strategic and proactive approach to her work. In other words: she gets sh*t done. 

As a mother to two boys, Holden and Porter, Lisa’s biggest accomplishments are rooted in her family and her willingness to take risks and trust her gut. Passionate about community and personal development, she thrives on gathering with like-minded individuals and engaging in conversations about learning and unlearning. A steadfast feminist, her biggest pet peeve is the patriarchy and she champions for women’s sports like it’s her day job. Her advice to young females in the industry? “You will be undervalued by enough people, so know your worth and do not waver.”

Content Strategist

Jessica Beuker

Jessica is a writer, editor, and marketer. Grown on the prairies, she hails from Saskatchewan, but graduated from Ryerson university in Toronto, her second home, with a Bachelor of Journalism. Since then, she has been the managing editor of The Plaid Zebra Magazine, the co-creator of a women’s writing group in Toronto, the host and producer of her own podcast,  and a jack-of-all-trades freelancer for everything from construction companies to country music radio stations. She’s now navigating the wonderful world of marketing and content strategy with exceptional grace and wit.

Short, loud, and opinionated, Jessica is a giant heart with arms and legs. Seriously, she’s always crying — sad, happy, excited, cute animals, you name it. An Ernest Hemingway style six-word memoir for Jess: “Why Is She Crying: An Introspective.” Jessica enjoys watching a ridiculous amount of movies and television, attending plays and concerts, travelling, doing puzzles, visiting with friends and family, and spending time outside. At a party you might find her lecturing strangers on feminist issues. The way to her heart is through 90s nostalgia and pop culture references. She loves coffee, dogs, and the Spice Girls. Jess and her partner have a 100-pound lap dog named Remy, who is a far less picky eater than Jess.

Producer

Mona Khan

Mona Khan, born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, harbored childhood dreams of becoming a theater actress. Lucky for us, she ditched her dreams of global superstardom to become a superstar producer at Rock & Bloom instead.  Mona is our reliable Swiss Army Knife, making even the most complex tasks look like a breeze. Her organizational wizardry and spreadsheet pizazz make her a force to be reckoned with.

Sweet yet opinionated, Mona isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. When it comes to roasting our CCO David, nobody does it better. When she’s not keeping us in line, Mona finds joy in applying henna designs, cooking Pakistani meals for family and friends, and photography. The latter of which showcases her deep and innate ability for storytelling. Her penchant for sharing historical tidbits often leaves others in awe. Family is everything to Mona, which is evidenced in the way she’s raised her three beautiful daughters.

Producer

Diane Setyo

Creative and determined, Diane is as unique and interesting as her colorful career journey. With a degree in Photographic Technology from NAIT, she embarked on a series of diverse roles, ranging from chocolate shop attendant to boudoir photographer, florist, and flower truck entrepreneur, before finding her niche as a Producer at Rock & Bloom. Her introverted nature gives her the remarkable ability to observe and understand others in a deeply profound way. 

Outside of the office, Diane’s hobbies are equally eclectic. She channels her creativity into crafting intricate paper flowers and experiments with making various chocolate confections. Diane’s friends would describe her as a spirited individual who wears her heart on her sleeve, and is never afraid to take a risk. At home, she shares her space with her husband and two beloved black cats, Melvin and Nona, working towards her dream of filling her house with as many black cats as humanly possible.

Designer

Jill Leclerc

Jill is the epitome of sunshine in human form. She’s an indispensable part of the Rock & Bloom team, wearing a variety of different hats including full-time designer, part-time office barista, creative ideas factory, and our daily dose of optimism when we need it most. Armed with a Graphic Communications Diploma, Jill dives head first into creative projects with unmatched enthusiasm. No project is too big or too bold for Jill. She is the definition of “if you can dream it – we can do it.”  

Outside of work, Jill’s creativity continues to reign supreme. Gardening? Check. Pottery? You bet. Tye Dye? Painting? Crafting? Jill’s your go-to yes woman. An animal lover at heart, Jill overflows with empathy – particularly for nature. She loves vegetables more than any human, and even forages her own mushrooms. It’s impossible not to smile when spending time with Jill because her light is so contagious. Her best career advice? Do what you want to do, not what people expect you to do.

Morgan Leber

Our beloved Torontonian, Morgan knew she wanted to be a graphic designer since the ninth grade and pursued it ambitiously, arming herself with a Bachelor of Design. Lucky for us, the distance couldn’t keep us apart. She found her way to Rock & Bloom, bringing with her a keen creative eye, never-say-no attitude, and an impressive compendium of “I know that font” knowledge. Seriously, she loves typography a uniquely Morgan amount. 

Outside of work, Morgan is as exceptionally talented as she is small (for reference we often measure fridge size by how many Morgan’s we think would fit). Fueled by a love for making pretty things, Morgan indulges in knitting and crafting, and has a surprising passion for K-pop. Fearful of small spaces, heights, and moths, her friends would describe her as a loud introvert and their default cat-sitter. She’s also – unwillingly – opened her home to squirrels, pigeons, and the more than occasional bug.  #JustTorontoThings

Mellary Bitner

Mellary has been an art and design fanatic since she could walk. Growing up on an acreage near Vanscoy, SK, in a family of nurses and teachers, she pushed her design aspirations aside for something a little less “risky”. She studied education at the U of S, before deciding that you gotta risk it for the biscuit, thus beginning her art school journey at Red River College in Winnipeg. Following a two-year adventure in St. John’s, Mellary decided to plant her roots in the prairies and, along with her husband and three adorable children, now calls Saskatoon home. 

Mellary’s eyes light up whenever she gets the chance to talk about typography or illustration. She’s the perfect fit for Rock & Bloom, bringing with her some killer problem-solving skills and a knack for perfecting all the itty, bitty design details. She’s dedicated to her craft – obsessing over surface pattern design, as well as painting and crafting even in her down time. Mellary loves to travel – Tokyo and Italy are next on the bucket list – but is a true prairie gal at heart. This is mostly evident in the fact that she loves going for walks, especially in the winter time, braving -50 weather like it’s no big deal. Her cool, casual demeanor and effortless charm will win anyone over within seconds of meeting her.

Kirstie Evans

Kirstie is a seasoned professional with a passion for design that drives results. What started as a childhood dream to name Crayon colours became a career choosing fonts and hex codes. She’s built her skillset on a Bachelor’s in Visual Communication, as well as a breadth of experience in marketing design and brand management. A self-described “expert button clicker and pixel picker,” Kirstie brings strategy and flair to her role as a designer, uniting marketing objectives and brand consistency.

Beyond her career, Kirstie finds joy in the little things; cats, plants, and home renovations. Her love for cats can be seen in her devotion to her two furry critters, Shrimp and Salami. Kirstie’s bubbly personality and big smile puts everyone around her at ease, allowing her to make friends with just about anyone. With a wealth of experience behind her, Kirstie’s career and creative advice is simple: “Be brave, try the thing!”

Emily Kohlert

Emily has been dreaming in technicolour since she was a kid — and now she makes those dreams tangible through vibrant design, evocative typography, and a deep connection to music and the arts. A Saskatchewan-born creative with a BFA in Studio Art (High Honours, no big deal), Emily has spent the past decade building a multidisciplinary design career that spans print, digital, photo, and video, completing projects for everything from local bands to Purolator. For Emily, design isn’t just visual — it’s emotional. And that’s exactly why it hits so hard.

Emily’s love for vintage typography and bold illustration is only rivaled by her affection for her cats, Poppy and Eleanor. She’s big on typography, pints with pals, and adding dramatic hand flourishes to everyday conversation. Emily is also one half of electro-pop duo Actor Director, where she writes, records, and performs. Basically, if something is big, bold and full of feelings and flair— Emily’s probably behind it.

Motion Designer

Edward Sedgwick

Edward once dreamed of dodging boulders as an archaeologist à la Indiana Jones, instead he ended up chasing bull riders with a camera crew. Edward brings stories to life through movement, sound, and just the right amount of mischief. A motion designer with a filmmaker’s soul, Edward holds a BFA in Film and Video Production from the U of R. He’s worn many hats: director of photography, editor, shooter, and strategist – and has the Gemini credits to prove it. Whether he’s crafting a cool animation sequence or finessing the perfect audio cue, he lives for the moment when design, sound, and movement just snap together. 

When he’s not in the zone, Edward’s a full-time dad to two rad kids (shoutout to Hart and Bright), and a lifelong beach and hockey enthusiast. He’s the kind of person who thinks deeply, jokes often, and quietly obsesses over getting things just right. Friends call him mercurial. We call him our motion maestro.

Autumn Parker

Autumn is our newest resident code whisperer, using her developer chops to build online magic. She spent six years doing social media marketing for a local business before finally exploring her true passion for technology and building impactful websites. A constant pursuer of growth, Autumn is always finding new things to learn, new tools to adopt, and new ways to level up – both professionally and personally. Her best advice? Embrace failure. Resilience might as well be her middle name. 

Autumn’s friends would describe her as altruistic, creative and so organized that it’s borderline unhealthy. Always equipped with a plan, she lives her life by agendas, itineraries and calendars. When she does let her hair down it’s to play animal crossing, garden, or cook and bake delicious treats. Autumn has two cats named Marley and Pheobe and a gecko named Morgan, but grasshoppers – her biggest fear – are where she draws the line.

Meg Wilken

Technical, resourceful, and a master of creative problem solving, Meg is an unstoppable force and a powerful member of our development team. Her background is impressive; she’s had more jobs than Barbie – a hairdresser, singer, and paralegal to name a few – and comes to us as a well-rounded, sharp-skilled, limit-pushing chameleon. Her best advice for those starting out in their careers? It’s never too late to pivot. You are never too far along a certain path. Meg is proof of this. 

When she’s not wrangling website code, she can be found wrangling two beautiful children, a dog, and about a million plants. Meg loves hanging out at the playground with the kidlets, but also won’t say no to a good ol’ brunch date or an afternoon spent thrift shopping. In fact, she’s got a deep soft spot for anything old and sentimental, as evidenced by her basement filled with “other people’s crap.” Meg’s friends would describe her as weird, but in a good way, and lucky for us it’s her good weirdness that we adore.

Julie Larson

On the surface, Julie has a knack for breaking and fixing things. In reality, she is a master of problem-solving, an avid learner, and a skilled creator of all things impactful. She’s the perfect addition to our ever-growing development team, pushing aside her childhood aspirations of becoming a dragon to write code, break down technical challenges, and distill complex ideas into beautiful – and functional – websites. 

Julie has been described as the perfect balance between funny, chaotic energy and type-A organized. She has a powerful super brain and will remember everything you say – even if it was 20 years ago. A creative at heart, Julie loves painting, reading fantasy, crocheting and has recently taken up sewing. She has 3 beta fish, and is hoping to adopt a goldendoodle, but don’t count on her befriending a spider any time soon; they are her biggest fear after a massive Australian one nearly attacked her.
